Hearse Wrecks drunk driver victims
Forward: The title of this
section, in case you had not figured it out on your own is because this page
features a couple of hearses that were ruined because fools who really too
ignorant and careless to operate motor vehicles decided to drink and drive. The
first in this series is a 1974 M&M 3-way belonging to Alex Lohmann from our
sister club the Dallas Trocars. Below is his account of the accident. The second
series of pictures were donated by Phantom Coaches member Ronnie Grubbs, whose
hearse was broadsided and forced into his ambulance by a drunk driver as well. Lengthy commentary on the
mental ineptitude of the social retards who caused this damage aside, the
pictures speak for themselves.
Well, for those of you who
haven't heard yet, the 74 is no more. Last night (technically, this morning)at
around 1:30 am, we were sitting at a red light and were rear ended. Myself,
Jennifer, and Jennifer Robinson were all in the front seat and a drunk lady
(Ill use that word loosely) who was not only drunk beyond human comprehension,
but was also talking on the phone, hit the 74 square in the back and totaled
it. Fortunately, the three of us were not seriously hurt, sore, and still
going to the doctor tomorrow, but nothing major like broken bones, etc... We
had seen this same lady run a red light at a previous intersection and had to
gas it around a corner to avoid her hitting us. As we were stopped at the next
light, we did not fare so well.
My glasses were knocked of my
face and I found them later once the wrecker driver dropped the car off at the
shop, on the floor, bent. I got them kind of back to a shape that will stay on
my face till my new ones get here. The table was shoved forward and were sure
hit the back of the seat. Of the 4 bier pins in the corners of the table, one
was in the window sill and the other one somehow managed to fly out of the car
and was lying under it. None of the doors will open, we had to climb out the
windows. The floor in the rear is buckled up about 8 inches. On of the
rockers is ripped in half and the frame is seriously twisted and bent.
In short, its a total waste,
perfectly good car, completely destroyed in a fraction of a second.
And why?
Because some ignorant person
cant obey the law, that's why. Its sad, she gets to go out and party, break
the law, crash her brand new, easily replicable car into mine, and she gets
taken home in an ambulance, I had to get my own ride home.
Such is life I suppose,
hopefully her insurance will cover everything.
Enjoy the pics.
There's something to be said
about tons of American steel. Her Explorer was TRASHED. We walked away.
Take care, and drive safe.
Alex
