Denver Hearse Association/Hearseclub.com Code of Conduct
Hearseclub.com welcomes all new members in the state of Colorado and greatly
looks forward to meeting you if you share an interest in hearses and ambulances.
We are very easy to get along with and we don't care about how you deck your car
out, how much you make for a living, your orientation, religion, etc. Our
primary goal is friendship and good times and occasionally causing some
trouble...
That being said, we've had a few trouble starters in the past and we have no use
for them anymore. In the first incarnation of our club we were very lenient on
people who constantly complained and caused problems, but the fact is these
people never contributed anything and as such are useless to the club.
We've got a good group here, and if you are wanting to join up, have fun and
contribute then we want you. Here is a short list of things that we don't accept
-
1. Talking behind other members backs - Anything you have to say should be
said in person.
2. Repeating anything told to you in confidence - This constitutes a
violation of trust.
3. Attempting to stir dissention in the club - Self explanatory, if you have
a problem with how the club is being run then it is up to you to approach the
people in charge and tell them in a constructive manner.
3. Talking trash - Not acceptable about any member of the club period.
4. Lying - This would seem to go without saying, but we have had a small
number of ex-members in the past who couldn't get it through their heads, so there it
is.
There are a few things we ask of you when joining the club as well
1. We have a rule about complaints - If you have a complaint realize that airing that complaint means you
are stating that you care enough about it that you have a workable solution and you are willing to be the one to
initialize it and see it through to it's conclusion. Otherwise you're just a
critic and you have no place here. Suggestions are ALWAYS welcome, shiftlessly
complaining is not.
2. Realize that this club is run by people who don't get paid. In many cases
the people running the club dump hundreds of dollars into it a year along with
countless man hours taking pictures, updating the site and spreading the word.
We don't charge membership dues either, it's hard enough to convince people to
bring their car out that only gets 10 miles per gallon without adding a fee on
top of that. What I am getting at here is something that few people realize -
JUST BECAUSE THE HEARSE CLUB IS FUN FOR YOU DOES NOT MEAN IT JUST HAPPENS. The
Hearse Club stork doesn't fly in every month or so and drop off a napsack full
of fresh, entertaining meets and web updates. It's the result of a few peoples
hard work, if you are just here to have a good time and are not interested in
lending a hand that is FINE, but take a moment to show some appreciation to the
people who work hard to make it happen.
Breaking these rules or being a general pain in the ass/embarrassment to our
club can lead to your membership being revoked by the president. It will not be
a committee decision, it will be an executive decision and is not subject to
group approval.
A member of the Denver Hearse Association/Hearseclub.com is defined as anyone
who attends 3 or more meets a year with a funeral car or ambulance. Termination
of membership means that you are no longer allowed to be a part of any event,
procession, parade or gathering in which this club is a primary
factor.
